TCSE Center School January 2025 Updates

JANUARY 2025 updates

January was a crazy month with snow, ice, and power outages but we are SO glad to back in routine with our students.

If you are not receiving text message alerts from the school, you may need to OPT IN. Text "Y" or "yes" to 67587 (you may opt out at any time by texting STOP to the same number).

Important Reminders & Dates

~Thursday, Feb 13th is parent teacher conference night. Please schedule with your child's teacher.

~Friday, Feb 14th is a half day for students.

~Monday, Feb 17th, there is NO SCHOOL

~Spring break is March 10th -March 14th (NO SCHOOL).

Student of the month awards

Ms. Emily's class

This student has been improving with his "waiting" skills, he is using his communication device more, and showing more interest in math!

Ms. Jessie's class

This student has increased his responding to staff as well as his independence for classrooms jobs and art, and transitioning to lunch.

Mr. Matt's class

This student has improved behavior, made progress with eating and using utensils!

Ms. Alyssa's class

This student is using her words to communicate wants and needs. She has also made progress completing her morning work!

Ms. Stephanie's class

This student always has a smile on his face and enjoys one on one work. He is making progress with his core board!

Ms. Laurie's class

This student has made great gains in learning school routines and learning to use his communication board. He is also improving his counting and letter recognition!

Ms. Kerri's class

This student has been engaging with classroom activities and is always ready to help with classroom jobs!

CORE word of the month

January core word is: TURN

Core vocabulary words are words that we use often when communicating and can be used in a variety of contexts.

Our Core word of the month is TURN. You can practice this word by using it during any play or activty where you take turns. For example, Take the item/ toy and say "it's my turn!" then have your student touch the core word "turn" in order to get the item back.

If your child uses a core board or device at home, touch the symbol for turn while you say the word.
