Thomas Named District 6A-11 Co-Defensive MVP
Cedar Hill High School junior Trinity Thomas was named Co-Defensive MVP in District 6A-11, one of the most competitive districts in Texas.
Senior Tajenae "Red" Gooden and junior Brooklyn King earned First Team All-District Honors.
Seniors Taylor Craver and Madison Caldwell and juniors Makiyah Risby and Rylan Jones were Second Team All-District.
Senior LaToya Turner, sophomore Lyntoria Daniel and junior Olivia Willis were Honorable Mention honorees.
Turner, Risby, Caldwell, Jones and senior Layla Amir-Hart earned All-District Academic Honors for the Lady Longhorns (22-14).

Cedar Hill Girls Soccer Team Defeats DeSoto on Senior Night
The Cedar Hill High School Girls Soccer Team swept the season series with DeSoto, defeating the Lady Eagles, 4-1, last Friday.
Sophomore McKinlee Butler scored three goals in the victory and now has 13 goals and five assists heading into the final week of the season.
Junior Nadia Newsome added a goal and two assists, and senior Gabriella McDaniel added an assist.
Earlier in the week, Cedar Hill (4-13-3) tied Skyline. In that match, Butler scored a goal on assist from her older sister, senior Alyssa Butler.
The Lady Longhorns will visit Mansfield Legacy (12-8-2) on Tuesday.

Cedar Hill Boys Soccer Tops DeSoto, 2-1
The Cedar Hill High School Boys Soccer Team defeated DeSoto, 2-1, last Friday to sweep the season series with the Eagles.
Gideon Drumm and Kian Adloo scored the goals for the Longhorns (3-12-3, 3-6-2).
Earlier in the week, the Longhorns lost to Dallas Skyline, 7-2. Leonardo Ortega scored his first goal of the season in the game, and Daniel Fuentes also scored.
Cedar Hill will play its final home game of the season on Tuesday against Mansfield Legacy (5-11-4). The Longhorns and Broncos played to a scoreless tie on February 9 in Mansfield.

Cedar Hill Softball To Open District Against Waxahachie on Tuesday
The Cedar Hill High School Softball Team won three games in its final week before District 6A-11 Competition begins.
The Lady Longhorns (5-14) won 12-11, at Fort Worth Nolan Catholic and then scored victories over Fort Worth Chisholm Trail, 16-1, and Fort Worth South Hills, 8-4.
Cedar Hill will open District 6A-11 Competition against Waxahachie (6-10) on Tuesday.

Cedar Hill Baseball Starts Season at 7-1-1
The Cedar Hill High School Baseball Team continued its success at the Irving ISD Tournament last weekend.
The Longhorns (7-1-1) didn't allow a run until the fourth and final game of the tournament. They played Ennis to a scoreless tie, then defeated Denton, 10-0 in five innings before an 8-0 victory over Garland.
Cedar Hill lost its final game of the tournament last Saturday, with a 6-4 setback against Dallas WT White.

Wichita State senior DJ McCarty finished with 12 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 68-61 loss to UT San Antonio on Senior Day. Earlier in the week, McCarty had eight points, nine assists and two steals in an 88-84 loss to SMU. WSU (8-21) will visit UAB on Tuesday and compete in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament next week in Fort Worth.
Sam Houston freshman Kelis Grant finished with six points, four rebounds and two assists in the Bearkats' 93-62 loss to Middle Tennessee. The Bearkats (7-19) will host their final regular season home game against Louisiana Tech on Wednesday.
