Fantastic First Week!
As we wrap up our first week at JD, I am relecting on what a fantastic week it has been! It's been wonderful to see students, teachers and families coming together again with such energy and enthusiasm! Our students have done an incredible job settling into their routines, and I am impressed by how quickly they have adapted to new schedules and classrooms. Thank you to our amazing staff for all of their efforts to ensure a smooth transition, and to you - our families! - for your ongoing support and encouragement. Together we are creating a positive and nurturing enviornment for our students to thrive!
Gaga Ball Success!
Thank you to everyone for your incredible fundraising efforts last year! Thanks to your generosity and commitment, our students have been able to enjoy our fun new gaga ball pit. It has been amazing to see their excitement and joy while playing. The grade 1-4 students play during first recess and the grade 5-8 students play during second recess. It is a resounding success!! Thank you once again for making this possible.
The FDK playground equipment is scheduled to be installed udring the week of September 16th. Exciting times!

Parent Portal
Please remember to log into your parent portal and update your permission for various aspects related to school. For example, it is incredibly helpful for office staff to know which older students have permission to leave the school for lunch and which students have permission to have their pictures in the weekly newsletter. Thank you for your attention in completing this task for us!
National Day of Truth and Reconciliation - Orange Shirt Day
On Monday, September 30th, we will be observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day). This important day is an opportunity for all Canadians to reflect on and learn the history and legacy of residential schools and to honour the children, families and survivors who were impacted. We will be engaging in age-appropriate activities and discussions to help students learn about the significance of these events.
