2nd Update 8.12-August 2020
IT's getting closer!
Crazy does not even come close to describing how most of us are feeling right now. I trust you are all safe after the latest 2020 event. Please take some time to read through all of the information below and watch the video. It may take a couple times through to fully grasp the amount of mitigation/safety procedures that will be implemented, but we wanted to get this out well ahead of time. Our Lead Learning team has been putting in many hours to create what we believe will provide the safest, most productive on-site learning environment possible.
Please use the form below for questions pertaining to our plan. Please be advised that dates/times are subject to change based on the recent power outage in Solon and the impact this has had on our community.
Together is BETTER! We will continue to be #solonstrong

Library Safety Protocols
Hand sanitizing stations will be placed at all library entrance points, and staff and students will be encouraged to apply hand sanitizer upon entering the library.
Staff and students will be expected to wear face masks and/or face shields while in the library.
Gloves will be worn by library staff to safely handle all library materials.
Library staff will frequently clean heavily touched surfaces (tabletops, chairs, countertops, door handles, booktrucks, book drop boxes, bins, printers, etc.) with sanitizing wipes or spray.
Furniture will be repositioned or removed, where possible, to meet social distancing guidelines.
A plexiglass divider will be installed at each circulation desk.
Library time before and after school, as well as during lunch or other times where a large number of students would gather in the library will be suspended.
All interlibrary loans between schools will be suspended.
The use of all non-book items will be suspended unless it can be sanitized after each use.
Students who are taking online Kirkwood classes may use the space, but it will need to be organized and scheduled with Mrs. Sutton. Assigned seats will also be utilized.

Check-Out
Students will not visit the library to check out materials.
Students will request books using Destiny or library checkout forms.
Library staff will pull reserved books from the shelves, checkout, label, and deliver desired books to the student’s location.
Check-In
Students will return their books to the designated drop box at each building where they will be held quarantine.
At the end of the day, each drop box will be labeled and placed in a separate area of the library for four days.
After the quarantine period has ended, books will be checked into the system and the outer surface will be wiped down with sanitizing wipes or spray, if possible.
The book will then be re-shelved and available for checkout.
