Las Positas Family Updates

Dear Las Positas Families,
It's hard to believe 2024 has come to a close. I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the warm welcome I have received since joining the Las Positas community. Your kindness and support have made my transition truly special. It is obvious what a wonderful, supportive community this is.
As we are immersed in the holiday season, I wish you all a joyful and peaceful time with your loved ones. Thank you for being such an important part of our school family.
Warmest regards,
Jackie Jenkins
Principal

Hello Las Positas Parents!
I want to thank all the teachers, parents, and students who came out to run with us for the Run for a Claus event last Saturday! If you and your family are interested in running in a race, we have another race that we participate in called the Kids Run the OC! This event will take place on May 3, 2025. Here is the link to register: https://runsignup.com/Race/Register/?raceId=135935
If you have any questions about this event, please feel free to reach out!
I am thrilled to announce that I will be hosting another Donuts with Do on January 16, 2025 at 8:30am in Room 204. Our topic will be on students' self-esteem. Donuts & Refreshments will be served and small children are welcome.

A knowledgeable student critically explores concepts that have both a local and global significance. (Think Globally, Act Locally!)
Here are some strategies to help develop the attribute of being knowledgeable:
· Make Connections: Try to connect learning from different subjects to see relationships
· Read: Gain different perspectives and insights by reading a variety of materials
· Discuss: Deepen understanding and critical thinking through discussions
· Ask questions: Ask questions to help your child understand what they've learned, why it's important, and what they want to learn next
· Encourage new learning: Encourage your child to learn new subjects and apply their learning in new situations
