Winter Holidays
It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
Chronically Absent
Fayette County parents and students are doing an amazing job thus far in the 24-25 SY. We currently have 18.88% percent chronically absent which is an improvement from 28% at the same time last year. Our goal is to be below 20% chronically absent at the end of the school year. When students are absent they miss out on quality instruction and incidental learning that occurs throughout the day.
Thank you for all that you are doing to help your children and Fayette County Schools fight this epidemic.
Attendance matters! Every day! Every period!
The January attendance incentive begins January 2, 2025-January 27, 2025. The guideline to be able to attend is no more than 2 unexcused absences. Please continue to submit the parent notes and doctor notes within the three day requirement upon returning to school.
Fayette County created the online absence link so that parents/guardians will be able to submit parent and doctor excuses electronically. For your convenience, the QR code is included. Your will need 2 items to submit an excuse online:
- student k12 email account
- student k12 password
If your student is unsure of their account or password, please feel free to work with your student's school to get this information.
Coats, Jackets and Hoodies
As we move into cooler weather please take the time to make sure that your child is wearing a coat or sweatshirt. Waiting for the bus, walking back to the house, students going outside to play at recess and they need to be warm (if the weather permits).
We encourage parents to submit a completed wellness center application to be able to help receive treatment if the child is sick or not feeling well. If the provider makes a decision to have the parent/guardian pick up the child, this will be coded as an excused absence and all missed work will be made available.
