ROOSEVELT WALK-A-THON PTO FUNDRAISER-OCT. 6TH
What is the Walk-A-Thon?
The Roosevelt Elementary Walk-A-Thon is a fun event to promote healthy lifestyles and raise money to support educational opportunities at Roosevelt Elementary.
Each student is asked to safely raise $75 (or whatever amount they can) to support the event and
the school’s mission. Please feel free to reach out and collect donations from family and friends, but due to safety concerns, please do not go door-to-door asking for donations unless you are with a parent.
The main event is the walk itself. All classes participate in the walk as part of their school day, accompanied by teachers.
What Do We Do With the Raised Funds?
All funds raised stay at Roosevelt and help pay for:
Field trips
Reading Incentives
Supporting teachers
Classroom supplies
Purchase every 5th grader a yearbook
Math Masters
Funding Requests
What Can I Do To Help?
There are several volunteer opportunities including chaperones, crossing guards, and water table attendants. To volunteer, please contact emilybrowndesigns3@gmail.com
Where do we turn in walk-a-thon money?
Donation envelopes will come home with students on Friday, Sept. 22. Please turn donations in on Thursday, October 5th.

If you’d like to order any Roosevelt gear, check out the link below. The store will remain open through Oct. 2 with orders completed approximately 2-3 weeks after the site closes. Individuals will receive an email when their order is available for pick up from UTE.

A Vote to Strengthen Safety and Security Across MAPS
Schools need to be safe and welcoming places where students come to learn, grow and develop into happy and successful citizens.
Addressing the need for secured entrance improvements in ten of our school buildings is a significant part of the November 7th referendum. View this 60 second video explaining the safety and security needs across the district.
Schools handle a vast amount of sensitive data, including student records, financial information, and personal details. If approved, bond funding will also strengthen cybersecurity protections across the district.
Referendum funding will directly impact the well-being and security of students, staff, and the entire school community. Learn more about the referendum at www.isd77.org/vote2023 and make your plan to vote on or before November 7, 2023.

Learn more about the bond referendum before our next PTO Meeting at our Roosevelt Referendum Informational Session!
Join us at Roosevelt on Oct. 16th from 5:30-6:00 pm to hear more information about how the referendum will benefit our Roosevelt Raccoons and all of our MAPS students.
Stay after for our PTO Meeting from 6:00-7:00 pm. Child care provided! We will be debriefing about the walk-a-thon, finalizing plans for the carnival, and discussing the possibility of a snack cart at Roosevelt.
