Vandalism Update
As you know, we had graffiti tags last week in boys' restrooms. We were forced to close the restrooms during classes on Wednesday and Friday. If you or your student recognize the tags below, please contact Dr. Mehlberg or me. Your information will remain confidential.
All bathrooms will be re-opened during class with bathroom monitors beginning Monday.
Should further vandalism occur, we will have no choice but to close restrooms during classes when students are unsupervised.
Thank you for your support as we aim to keep our "home away from home" a clean, safe, healthy, and positive place to be!
Looking for ways to support those in need in our community?
- Pantry Packs is conducting their Thanks “giving” food drive on 11/13. You can purchase items off their Amazon wish list at Amazon.com that will help provide food that goes home with students over weekend for families facing food insecurity.
- Kirkland Nourishing Network is still raising funds to help cover grocery gift cards to distribute to families to help over Thanksgiving and Winter breaks. You can donate at Kirkland Nourishing Network – Helping Food Insecure Families with Food During Long School Breaks.
- Finn Hill Giving Tree – Help support some of our FH Families by donating gift cards or shopping for specific items requested for the holidays. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Kirstin Doughty at kdoughty@lwsd.org.
Feeding America Thanksgiving Food Drive
With the holidays approaching, we are partnering with Juanita High School for their annual all-school Feeding America Thanksgiving Food Drive, which will be taking place from November 12th-November 19th. Their goal is to raise around 1,200 pounds of food and $500 in cash donations. All donations (cash and non-perishable canned goods) will be going to Food Lifeline as it is a member of Feeding America. We have attached a flyer with a QR code with a specific list of high needed items below. All foods must be non-perishable and sealed to be accepted. There will be collection bins near the main office, library and in the commons where students can drop off their donations.
