El Modena High School
Week of September 1
PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
As we wrap up the first full week of school, we wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks for your support and cooperation. The start of the school year is always an exciting time, filled with new opportunities for growth and learning. Our students have settled in beautifully, and it's been wonderful to see them reconnect with friends and begin exploring their new curriculum.
We appreciate your patience as we fine-tune the details of our daily routines and procedures. Please continue to encourage your child to communicate openly about their experiences and reach out if they need any support.
We look forward to a fantastic school year ahead and are eager to share more updates with you as we progress. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us.
Here is the Bell Schedule for next week. There is no school on Monday (9/2) for the Labor Day Holiday.
We are excited to invite you to our Back to School Night on September 4th, starting at 5:45 pm in the cafeteria. This event is a wonderful opportunity for you to engage with our school community, meet your student’s teachers, and learn more about the exciting year ahead.
Additionally, we will be hosting the English Language Acquisition Advisory Committee (ELAC) meeting at 5:15 PM in room 615 (behind the Library). This meeting is an excellent chance for parents and guardians of English language learners to connect and get important updates.
Also, the PTSA will have their first association meeting at 4:45 pm in the Library.
We look forward to seeing you there and partnering together to support your student’s success.
Go Vanguards!
Looking forward to a great year,
Bob King

Depending on constraints due to construction, we may need to change the exam dates to later in October.
If you are committing to taking the exam during the school day, please complete this registration form by 9/3/24. If you complete the form after 9/3/24, you will be added to the waitlist. If you complete the form late, we can not guarantee that you will be able to take the exam through OUSD.
