11.8.2024 - Popular
Sometimes a message is so good, you just need to hear it again, and maybe again. This message is about the desire to be popular. We shared it at the start of October, and we will continue to talk about it. Mean people are not popular. That's right. If you want to be popular, be kind to others. You have all likely heard us say this before. You can’t hear it enough. Be cool by being kind. If you have given too much effort towards making fun of other people, calling people names, or being rude, get better! You are better than that. As human beings, nobody wants to be around someone who will make them feel bad. If this seems strange or harsh to you, then this message is likely intended for you. Colonel Wheeler needs to be a place where everyone wants to be welcoming, fun, enjoyable, and kind. Make “meanness” uncool. Be popular by encouraging other people, complimenting them, and giving them positive reinforcement. It is easy to do and should not be difficult to understand when YOU, yourself, also prefers to be around people who make you feel good. Keep this school year rolling well by considering how you have treated others in the past and get better!
11.15.2024 - Giving Thanks
Students, have you ever heard the phrase “The more you practice the art of thankfulness, the more you have to be thankful for.” You should be able to acknowledge the good things that you have in your life. The more you can do this on a regular basis, the greater impact you will have on your life and others. I have a challenge for you, start every single day from here until Thanksgiving by complimenting your first hour teacher. Tell them one thing each day that you appreciate about them. It doesn’t need to be creative or elaborate, but just acknowledge them to start each day! It will help your positive thought just as much as theirs.
As always, let's make it a great day to be a Bulldog!
