Wishing You a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
MKS Mission Spotlight: FAITH - Hope!
Our theme this year is HOPE, and our theme verse is Romans 15:13. I wanted to dig deeper into the Greek & Hebrew meanings of the word Hope in relation to this verse, and this is what I found via Google...
Greek doesn't have a real sense of a hopeful longing, or a hope based on trust and expectation of deliverance, so the authors used the closest term they can find, which apparently is elpis. (Google)
In the Strong's Greek concordance, it clearly states that the word elpis may be translated as "hope", but that it should be understood that this type of hope is an expectation of what is sure or certain.

In Romans 15:13, Paul is asking God to give his Roman readers a supernatural hope that is powered by the Holy Spirit. He is praying for them to be filled with joy and peace, and to abound in hope - or the Hebrew version of hope - tikvah. (Google)
In Hebrew, tikvah has multiple meanings, including expectation, cord, and rope. It comes from a root word that means to bind or to wait for. In the Bible, hope is a gift from God that is a source of strength and comfort. It is a firm assurance of the future, and a way to build character while waiting. (Google)
It is interesting to me the visual of the rope in reference to this expectant hope and waiting. Ecclesiastes 4:12 mentions a cord of three strands which says, “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
The more I wait on God for the things I hope for, the more I find my strength in Him and not myself, my circumstances, or others around me. When we are most desperate, we cling to Him and rely on His strength and provision more than ever.
Imagining jumping out of a plane, I would much rather be strapped to an expert skydiver who will provide for and protect me in the process. In the same way, I want to be bound to an all-powerful, good God when going through the difficulties of life! I also want to remember to acknowledge and praise Him for all the good as well!
I pray that in whatever you are hoping for, you are drawn closer to Him! To God be all the glory in all circumstances!

Ms. Michelle
GIVE THE GIFT OF DANCE!
Dance is such a gift to students! It promotes good health - physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally!
Did you know that students who take two classes a year make double the progress? If your dancer is looking for a bit more, being open to adding an additional class or classes could expand their growth and opportunities!
Whether a dancer is in one class or more, we pray that they are blessed beyond measure by the gift of dance!
