BOOSTER MEETING
EXPECTATIONS
Punctuality
Parents, we need your help to make sure your students are here on time each day! When students are absent, they are missing out on quality instruction. As a reminder, students are required to be in attendance 90% of the time in order to receive credit for their courses. If your child misses 3 or more consecutive days, they are required to bring a doctor's note upon returning to school. Students that are chronically absent, without legitimate excuse, may be assigned to after school detention, Saturday School, or Summer School to regain credit. Parents (or students 18 years of age & older) may also be fined and/or have to appear in truancy court.
***If your child misses for an appointment and returns at any point that same school day, they are counted present for the full day!!!***
School Work
We expect all students to complete all assigned work. If your student is falling behind, they may be assigned to detention (lunch or after school) to get caught up. Taking a zero is not an option.
ATTENTION SECONDARY PARENTS (GRADES 6-12)
Did you know you can submit school notes digitally this year? Use the link above titled Digital School Note OR access it from https://www.antonisd.org/ Click the Parents tab and select School Note (Secondary: Grades 6-12).
Parent Conferences
We will be scheduling annual parent conferences between the hours of 10 AM - 6 PM on 9/23. This is a great opportunity to touch base with your child's teachers and see how they are doing. We would love for you to come in person, but we also have teleconference options available. If you have limited availability, we encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher(s) via email to schedule a more convenient time.
Dealing With Conflict
We encourage you to reach out to discuss any concerns you may have regarding your student(s).
Please follow these guidelines for the best possible outcome:
- Take a Moment. Do not call or come up to the school in the heat of the moment. Allow a cooling-off period before reaching out, so that we may engage in productive, respectful dialogue. Yelling, cussing, or threatening behavior will not be tolerated.
- Schedule an Appointment. To allow adequate time to address your concerns, we kindly ask that you call or email in advance. We will schedule an appointment in a timely manner.
- Follow Chain of Command. Always start with the person with the lowest authority that has the ability to resolve the issue. EX: Did something happen in class? Begin with the teacher before contacting anyone else.
