Counselor's Corner:
We have had a wonderful week of learning at Dallas Harris! All students in grades K-6 have been learning what the Continuum of Engagement is and how to use it as a self-reflection tool for academic success. Mrs. Stichka (school counselor) and Mrs. Cline (learning coach) have had so much fun co-teaching this to your child so that teachers and students can use this as a tool for learning this school year. What is the Continuum of Engagement and how does it help your student learn? The continuum is a self-reflection tool that helps all of us to identify how engaged we are as learners. The goal is for each student to be able to reflect on what stage they are at on this continuum at any moment during the day and to take ownership of their learning by moving themselves into deeper levels of learning. Is a student disrupting their learning or the learning of others? Has a student been avoiding learning in an area that is hard for them? What strategies might help them to move up into engagement? If students are participating in class, can they push themselves to go deeper in their learning by making connections or teaching others? Ask your child to tell you about the Continuum of Engagement and how it will help them in their learning! We hope this tool assists your child to succeed as a lifelong learner.

Dallas Harris PTO
"PTO" stands for Parent Teacher Organization and this is our corner of the Yote Note to communicate with YOU! Below is a link to our website where you can read our meeting minutes, preview past and upcoming events, sign up to volunteer with us and more. Our main purpose is to work alongside school staff to provide enrichment opportunities to the Dallas Harris school community. The PTO works hard all year long to raise funds through both individual donations and special fundraising events so we can provide funding to teacher classrooms, library, art and music programs, help pay for field trips and field trip transportation, and support our amazing school staff when possible. Your donations qualify for the Idaho Education Tax Credit. GO YOTES!

Cell Phone Policy
Dallas Harris is asking that students do not have phones out on school grounds before, during or after school. Students are allowed to keep their cell phones in their backpacks during the day. If SMART watches interfere with learning or are used during the day for calls, they will need to be kept in backpacks as well. for your support on this issue.
