Falcon Flyer
Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-- We were pleased to honor our Veterans today during a moving convocation highlighted by inspirational music from our choir and band performers. This important event reminds us all of how fragile life and liberty can be, and how important it is that we have service men and women defending our freedom. We thank all who participated and attended today, and we thank ALL Veterans for their service. I was happy to have my own dad join us for the ceremony as well (pictured here). Tomorrow Veteran’s Day is officially observed and we will have NO School.
You may have heard that our football team was victorious last Saturday and earned a quarter-final match-up with Arlington High School, at Arlington, this Friday night! This past Tuesday our volleyball girls had a dominating performance in a knock-out round game defeating Kennewick in four sets. They are one step closer to a state berth and have an opportunity to clinch this Saturday at HOME vs Ferris! Come out and support your Falcons!
This time of year while we gear up for winter sports it’s also concert season! Orchestra and Band had amazing shows these past two weeks. Choir will join them for the Holiday concert performances in December, looking forward to that!
Don’t forget to purchase your tickets for our hilarious fall play, The Importance of Being Earnest. Our kids and their coaches have worked so hard for months in preparation and it promises to be one of those events you don’t want to miss!
Reminders: Please make advance plans with your child’s teachers if they will be missing school for family travel this holiday season. Please follow student drop-off/pick-up expectations before and after school. Such as PULL FORWARD, no waiting along streets, no waiting in the visitor OR staff parking lots, use the bus lane for a.m drop-off after 7:25. Thank you for your cooperation!
Treat yourself to some good news every week and read the Falcon Flyer! You’ll find inspiration on every page! Make it a great weekend –Mr. Hardt

Fall Semester ASVAB Testing
Do you have a junior or senior who either did not pass his/her SBAC or one who has a desire to enlist in the military? If your answer is to one or both of these questions is “yes,” RHS will offer the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) on Tuesday, November 28. As an information item, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) offers Washington students multiple ways to meet their Graduation Pathway requirement, with the first being the SBAC (passing Math and English tests taken sophomore year). For those students who do not pass the SBAC, OSPI offers SEVEN ALTERNATE graduation pathways, and taking the ASVAB is ONE of them. Re-taking the SBAC is also one them. NOTE: While the ASVAB is used by the US military to help place enlistees in jobs, the scores from the test will NOT be released to the military automatically. Students interested in military service will need to release their scores to the military.
If your student wants/needs to register for the ASVAB, please encourage him/her to access the Google Classroom and complete the form Mr. Spraggins posted earlier this week NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17. If you and/or your student have questions, please contact the grade level counselor or Mr. Spraggins (bspraggins@cvsd.org).

Falcon Artists
Our Ridgeline artists honored our veterans by painting a plow for the city of Liberty Lake thanking them for their service. Art Club president, Abigail Ellwein, did an incredible job coming up with the design, keeping the bird in the image intentionally ambiguous. While some may see the bird depicted in this artwork as the symbolic bald eagle that represents our nation, we here at Ridgeline may see a falcon personally thanking the men and women who have served our country. Travis Shoemaker, Logan Plumb, Justice Plumb, Max O’Brian, and Abigail Ellwein spent many hours painting the plow, and it turned out fantastic! In order to appreciate the artwork on the plow at our Veterans Day assembly, Mikayla Clark, Pidge Stickney, and Matt Jarvis recreated it on canvas
