We love to see our Bridges Bears each and Every Day! Attendance is Essential!
Dear Families -
Oh, the Spring! There are so many reminders of renewal and rejuvenation that come with the Spring season. We are happily anticipating Spring Break at Bridges Community School after one more week of learning. We are ready for a little break from schoolwork and looking forward to some outside time and connection with family and friends! It will be a well-deserved rest for students and school staff.
Over the past few weeks we have enjoyed watching our K-5 graders participate in our Bridges Showcase day, Spelling Bee, Science fair, reading with buddies, writing persuasive papers and learning. We want to thank all staff who encouraged and supported our students for their great efforts. Working with our staff, we have seen great gains in student learning and friendships since fall.
We are also swinging into the weeks in April and May with NWEA, DIBELS, & MCA testing as well as many "being there" experiences. I encourage each family to continue to show up for school daily with a good night of rest and a breakfast at home or school. We want students to be able to demonstrate the good skills they have learned this year. A list of events were sent home with specifics around our spring program, awards day, the spaghetti dinner, the all school picnic and many field trips. Your child’s teacher will keep you informed of specific class test dates and field trips.
You have much to celebrate and be proud of at your child's conference! We are so lucky to have each student attend Bridges!

Save Receipts for School Supplies
The Minnesota Department of Revenue offers two valuable tax benefits for parents who purchase school supplies for their K-12 students: the K-12 Education Credit and Subtraction. These benefits can reduce parents’ taxes to increase their refund, but are only available for those who keep their receipts. Purchases for most school supplies, field trips, and musical instruments for school band are eligible.
Most Minnesota parents qualify for the K-12 subtraction, which reduces their taxable income. Parents under certain income limits may also qualify for the K-12 credit, which can refund up to 75% of their costs – even for parents who do not owe any taxes. Visit MN Department of Revenue website for details.
