Thanks for another fantastic week at BWMS. It was great to continue to see our students being challenged and engaged in classrooms throughout the week and then some time extra family partnerships during Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences.

Looks like it is time for a short, yet fun week at BWMS. I'm looking forward to seeing our students support our community with the Builder's Club Food Drive, NJHS Pie in the Face Challenge and everyone enjoy the Staff vs Student Volleyball Game and other fun activities planned by our Student Council.

• The Builders Club Food Drive will be November 18-26. Encourage your Advisory to Support the Big Walnut Friends Who Share! Check out the details below.
• Student council is planning for two spirit days before Thanksgiving break. In addition, they are preparing for our Staff vs Student Volleyball game on Tuesday 11/26/24. At the same event, National Junior Honor Society will be looking to pie a staff member for a good cause.
• Thanksgiving Break is 11/27/24 through 11/29/24.
• There is no school for students on Monday 12/2/24 due to Teacher PD Day.
• STAR testing in Reading and Math will take place the week of December 3rd.
• The SOAR cart will be rolling on Wednesday 12/4/24.
• The BWMS Winter Concert for Band/Choir/Orchestra is Monday 12/9/24 with the following start times: 6PM: Choir, 7PM: Orchestra, 8PM: Band.
• The next BWMS PTO Meeting is Tuesday 12/10/24 at 7PM.
• BWMS will have a Winter Dance on Friday 12/13/24. Sponsored by our Student Council, this event is from 6-8 and available to all 6th-8th students that attend BWMS. Cost is $5 at the door.

• Attention Parents: We would ask that you please let the office know by 1:30 in the event there needs to be an adjustment to after-school transportation. This will help us ensure the message is delivered to your student.
• AM Parent Drop Off Information: Thank you for continuing to pull all the way around the circle and filling in each space to support an efficient drop off of students each morning. As a reminder, our first period class begins at 7:30 am. The doors open at 7:05 am for your convenience and there is typically no waiting line until after 7:20 am.
  

We hosted the District 6 Parliamentary Procedure CDEs at Big Walnut High School. The results are in! We are pleased to report that both our teams have advanced to the state contest!

The novice team placed second in Central Ohio to earn this honor. They will compete against the top 20 teams from across the state in the state contest on December 7th at the Delaware Area Career Center. We are especially proud of this team, considering we were one of very few teams with middle school students.

Team members include Ava Debolt, Passhv Soni, Rosie McCaulla, Austin Chapman, Ella Altizer, Landen Legg, Morgan Miller, Bella Millburn, and Kensley Fox.

The advanced team placed first in its division and will advance to the state contest at the Delaware Area Career Center on December 14th.

Joshua Schutt, Lainey Soule, Paris Anderson, Gracie Young, Chelsie Kofi-Opata, and Jack Fu are team members.

Please wish these students luck as they prepare to represent our chapter at the next level!
