Report Cards
Greetings Webber Elementary Parents and Students,
Concurrent with this newsletter, at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon (February 7), parents should be receiving a message with their child's report card enclosed. If that message does not arrive in your inbox, be sure to check your junk mail. An explanation of LOCS's standards-based grading philosophy is also included. Keep in mind that many academic standards have not been fully assessed and only portions of the curriculum completed. So, "4's" are generally withheld at this time. A full and accurate appraisal will be provided in the end-of-year report card. Regardless, please review academic marks as well as the comment narrative. Do not hesitate to reach out to your student's teacher should you have any questions or concerns.
Next Friday, February 14 is Valentine's Day and also a half day with dismissal at 12:05 p.m. Our staff will have professional development in the afternoon. We are very excited for the parent volunteers that are assisting with the Valentine's Day celebrations. Sending you lots of Dragon love! 💚
The PTO sponsored "Disco Night" is approaching quickly, scheduled for February 21. Any parents interested in volunteering should see the designated PTO section of this newsletter.
Call me bitter, but I'm totally lacking enthusiasm with this year's Super Bowl. However, don't let my grouchy mood get in your way. I hope you enjoy the fun and festivities. Have a wonderful weekend and GO DRAGONS!

Staff Recognition - Distinguished Dragon
Throughout the school year, if you would like to recognize a staff member from Webber, we encourage you to submit a Distinguished Dragon nomination. The intent of the Distinguished Dragon program is to ensure that staff members who go above and beyond their regular duties are appreciated. The additional effort or support can range from helping an individual to helping a group or any effort that seems worthy of praise.
The staff member can be nominated by a student, parent, community member or a colleague by completing the form at LakeOrionSchools.org/DistinguishedDragon. We ask for the submitter's name and contact information to follow up with specific questions if necessary. Please make sure to select the appropriate school/department form so the message is routed in the proper direction.
Please complete the form entirely so the individual can be appropriately honored for their contributions.
