Happenings at the Hive

Dear Solon Stinger Families,

What a wonderful couple of weeks we have had at Solon Robinson Elementary! We were absolutely thrilled to welcome so many grandparents and special guests for Grandparents & Special People Day. The joy and excitement in our building was truly heartwarming as our visitors joined in on a variety of activities--a classroom visit, creating special crafts in the art room, exploring new adventures at the Book Fair, opportunities for photos, and enjoying a lively game of BINGO.

A huge thank you to our amazing PTO for organizing volunteers and to all of the parents who helped make each of our six sessions run smoothly. Your support made this event a fantastic experience for our students and their special guests!

Seeing the smiles and shared moments between our students and their loved ones reminded us of the incredible community we have here at Solon Robinson. We loved having you with us and can’t wait to welcome you back for more special events!

A paper order form went home with your child earlier this week.

You can order online by going to “inter-state.com/order” and use the Order Code “91331C” or send cash or check payable to “Inter-State” in the order form that went home. All orders are due by Friday, March 7.

Congratulations to the students pictured below who were drawn as last week's Stinger Ticket winners. These student names were drawn from hundreds of tickets that were earned by students for showing respectful, responsible, safe, and kind cafeteria behavior. Way to go, everyone!

Our Solon princes and princesses had a fun-filled day of royal activities last Thursday to celebrate the end of their CKLA Kings & Queens unit. They made crowns, practiced royal etiquette, learned to Waltz, and enjoyed afternoon tea. Kindergarteners also had a fun time celebrating Valentine's Day on Friday!

These students are recognized by their classroom teacher for embodying the character trait of RESPONSIBLE. Each nominee received a certificate, a locker magnet, a Caught Being Kind sticker, a RESPONSIBLE friendship bracelet, along with a Chick-Fil-A Be Our Guest card.

Our first month and we had a tie. The nominated staff members receive a certificate, some swag for their office/classroom door, a "Jean Day" pass, Lunch of their choice, a Caught Being Kind sticker, a RESPONSIBLE friendship bracelet, along with a Chick-Fil-A Be Our Guest card.

It was so awesome to look around La Quesadilla on Wednesday and see the support of so many Staff Members and Solon Families, whether dining in, carrying out or drive-up. And thats on top of the 36 Staff lunches that were delivered yesterday throughout the lunch hours. Your support means everything to us and we are so grateful.

Crown Point Community School Corporation is accepting nominations for the Teacher of the Year, Administrator of the Year, and Employee of the Year who will serve during the 2025-2026 school year. Nominations begin February 1st and are open through March 1st.
