• Progress learning will have weekly checkpoints in reading and math. Please log into progress learning and complete these!

-Writing Development with inventive spelling

-CVC words & nonsense words

-Sight word memorization

-Reading fluency & Comprehension

-Blends, Digraphs, and Trigraphs

Below are the 1st grade sight words we will be learning this year!

Your child should also be fluent with sight words. We use the Literacy First sight words. Your child should have Sight Word List A (100 words) mastered by the middle of 1st Grade and Sight Word List B (100 words) by the end of the 1st Grade. If they have not mastered these words already, start there! Sight Word List C (300 words) will need to be mastered by the end of 2nd Grade.

-Basic time and days of week

-Adding & subtracting up to 20 with objects & pictures

-Speaking in complete sentences to share thinking

We will be using the resources listed below throughout the year to help practice skills and grow in reading. You should be able to click on the blue button to access each website. Please let your teacher know if one of the buttons does not work.
