Hello from Hive Headquarters!
I know that you all have been very busy worker bees over the past few months in your schools and working on closing out another school year! I want you to know that I appreciate all that you have been doing and continue to do on behalf of the next generation of young people. We are so excited for our Summer Institute and hope that you have made plans to join us in Harrisonburg, VA at the Hotel Madison and Shenandoah Valley Conference Center, July 16th-19th. We have some very unique experiences planned that I think many of you will enjoy! Be sure to register NOW!!! Don't put it off, because we want to provide you all with some exciting new opportunities and sessions that you will want to take part in before you gear up for the 2023-24 school year!
As always, your board of directors are working diligently to provide you with hands-on professional development experiences that will benefit you and your students! We are excited for our two keynote speakers that will be joining us as well! Danielle Dreilinger, Author of "The Secret History of Home Economics: How Trailblazing Women Harnessed the Power of Home and Changed the Way We Live," will be joining us for a book signing and keynote address and also Chase Mielke, Author of "The Burnout Cure: Learning to Love Teaching Again," will host two breakout sessions and one keynote address. We are BEE-yond buzzing about these two and the fact that they will share their areas of expertise with us this summer!
I just want to say Thank You to all of you that supported me this year in my role as President. I couldn't have done it as Queen Bee solely. It takes all the bees and I appreciate the support I received from the board and members alike in my year of planning and preparation for this year's institute. It has been an honor and pleasure to serve as your President and the experience should be one that you all have the opportunity to share! Please remember to sign up and volunteer to join the board and institute committees as well, because without each and everyone of you, our organization would not exist! We have a week before the Hive comes Alive at VATFACS, Inc. Summer Professional Development Institute - we hope to see you in July in Harrisonburg to find out more on "What's the Buzz!"
