Principal's Update

Debate-A-Bulls at Harvard
While we're waiting here for our delayed flight home from Boston, I wanted to update you all on how the West Boca Debate Team did at Harvard this weekend! 22 of our best and brightest braved the cold and snow to compete against thousands of the top debaters from hundreds of teams from all over the nation and the world! And they were AMAZING! Every one of them was strong, with Dylan Gaynor and David Hain both representing us all the way into the semifinal round! The West Boca Team as a whole also placed 16th out of the hundreds of teams that were present! Be sure to congratulate all of the kids when you see them on their hard work and success!
Pi Day 3.14
Interested in helping students in need at West Boca High School go to the Prom? The Math Honor Society is once again raising money by pre selling pie slices ($2.50/slice or $16 for the whole pie) -apple crumb, chocolate cream, and key lime- and also voting for teachers/faculty to get "pied" ($1 per vote during lunch in the courtyard starting March 3rd). The teachers with the most votes will get "pied” on Pi Day, March 14th. The goal of the event is to raise money to purchase prom tickets for students who could otherwise not afford to go. Last year, through this event and community donations, we raised enough money to send 13 seniors to prom. Want to guarantee you "pie" the teacher/faculty member you want? For anyone who makes a $75.00 donation (half a prom ticket), they get to designate one person to throw a pie at any teacher/faculty member on the volunteer list. If interested in this or just making a donation, please reach out to Danielle.Barlow@palmbeachschools.org.
List of eligible teachers/faculty members: Mrs. Barlow, Mrs. Jacobowitz, Ms. Marly, Ms. Claxton, Mr. Carboni, Ms. Steel, Mrs. Rossi, Mr. Merle, Mrs. Kline, Mrs. Santoro, Mr. Matz, Mrs. Orozco Botero, Mr. Frank Cook, Mrs. Rosenblum, Ms. Lynne, Mrs. Esther, Mrs. Clark, Mr. Edelman, Dr. Baldelomar, Mr. Shane, Chef Angnardo, Mr. Jaddaoui
