Principal's Message
Dear God
Help me to live your goodness and kindness each day.
Remind me that my actions express who I am even more than my words.
May I love as you love.
Let me be good to those who are not always kind to me.
Help me forgive those who need forgiveness,
and reach out in kindness to all I meet
so they can experience your unconditional love.
Amen
Kiss N Drop Reminder
We kindly remind you not to park in the Kiss n Drop area (Barnston Way Cul De Sac) before and after school. This area is designated for quick drop-offs and pick-ups only.
Unfortunately, we have noticed a few cars still parking in this zone, which blocks other vehicles and creates a safety hazard for families using the cul de sac. If you need to leave your car, please use the church car park instead. Do not park in the Kiss n Drop area.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as our staff, with the support of the City of Gosnells Rangers, work to ensure the safety of our students. Remember, the safety of our students is our top priority. It is never acceptable to yell at staff members or other parents. If you have any concerns, please visit the office, and we will do our best to assist you.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Interschool Athletics
Mr White and Mr Artingstall (student teacher) have been preparing our Interschool team for the Interschool Athletics event scheduled for Thursday 19th September (next week). The weather forecast is looking great, and students are reminded to put on their sunscreen, bring their water bottles and to wear their hats, as they will be outside for a significant part of the day.
Congratulations to all the children who have been selected in the interschool team. I wish you all the best for your events next week!
Colour Splatacular Run
We are excited to announce that our annual Colour Splatacular Run will take place next Friday, marking the last day of Term 3! On this special day, children and staff are welcome to come to school in free dress.
We encourage children to wear a white shirt and old pants or shorts, as the colour powders used during the event may stain or not wash out completely. Please avoid sending your child in their best attire.
Parents are warmly invited to join us at 2pm for this vibrant event. Please be prepared to get wet and colourful if you choose to participate.
We are also looking for volunteers to assist on the afternoon. If you are available, please contact Mr Maher through our office.
What a fantastic way to end the term!
Last Week of Term 3
Parents and care-givers are reminded that next week is the last week of Term 3. It is looking to be a busy, but fun week. School finishes at 3pm on Friday 20th September. Staff will return for term 4 with a professional learning day for our Berry Street program, which means that students return on Tuesday 8th October wearing their summer uniform.
Principal Conference
Mr Maher and Ms Madafferi will lead the school whilst I am attending the Principals' Conference next week. Please do not hesitate to contact them if required during this time.

CEWA Child Safe Framework
Have you heard of the CEWA Child Safe Framework?
Over the term we have looked at the 3 key concepts that underpin the CEWA Child Safe Framework and the nine elements that combined, help us to make decisions surrounding child safety in the school.
In the coming weeks, we will unpack one of these nine elements each week and how St Jude's ensures that each element is being addressed.
This week's focus is:
Policies and Procedures
Structures and processes that are accessible, consistent and transparent. Policies must be understood, implemented and actioned everyday.
What does this look like?
- As a parent, I am aware of our school’s Code of Conduct and how it relates to me and my child.
- The CECWA Child Protection Policy is communicated to everyone in our school community.
At St Jude's we:
- Have a Community Code of Conduct for parents, staff and visitors to follow
- Teach the Keeping Safe Curriculum to our students which is highlighted in our Catholic Schools Improvement Plan (CSIP), Curriculum Planning and Instructional Framework
- Have a comprehensive complaints procedure for students presented in pictures and easily to understand language
- Have a comprehensive complaints/concerns procedure for parents/caregivers
- Have a register where staff can disclose any intentional contact with students outside of school hours eg, coaching a school sports team
- Communicate our class Keeping Safe content through Term Overviews.
- Conduct a self assessment of the Child Safe Framework which is reviewed annually to inform continuous improvement
- Review the CEWA Child Protection Policy as a system
- Break apart the community code of conduct at every SAC Meeting.
- Regularly review (Annually) our staff/community code of conduct
Have a wonderful weekend!

Colour Splatacular - Next Friday (20 September)
Last week, students would have received instructions on how to setup their online account for fundraising at: https://myprofilepage.com.au/
There are heaps of prizes on offer and the highest fundraiser from each class gets to SLIME a teacher!
Don't forget that your child will need a white shirt to participate in the colour splatacular. This will be a free dress day for students. Although most of the coloured powder should wash off, students are encouraged to wear old clothes that they wouldn't mind getting stained. Also, don't forget a towel or sheet to put on your car seats for the ride home.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Volunteers are urgently needed to assist us in the running of this event. If you are able to assist, please come to the office by 11:30 am on Friday 20 September.
