When the Aetos Center Meridian Title Company Performance Hall opened a couple of years ago, its main focus is education. It is a place where high school students can practice their craft and find their niche, but it is also where the youngest students in our district can see a live show steps away from their schools. As was the case recently when 2nd graders in Nixa and our neighboring school districts came to see the production of "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus."

The Nixa Education Foundation is thrilled to announce our new Classroom Grant Program, created in addition to our annual grant program to meet the growing needs of our teachers throughout the year. Each month, educators across the district can apply for grants of up to $500 to fund essential classroom tools, projects, and learning experiences that directly benefit their students.

Our teachers’ grant requests have already shown us how impactful this new program will be, but we need your support to make it happen!

Every dollar you donate goes directly to support classrooms, programs, and departments across Nixa Public Schools. If there’s a particular school or program close to your heart, let us know—we’ll make sure your donation reaches where it matters most to you.

In order to make sure that our system is working or to make sure you or your cell phone company hasn’t blocked our messages, we will do a test text on the 10th of every month at 10 am. This will give you a point to reference to let us know if you do not receive the message. You should receive this if you are a parent/guardian or staff member.

The numbers receiving the text alerts will be the two numbers you put on your child's information when you updated their information at the beginning of the year. If you need to update your information, please go to www.nixaregistration.net or email registration@nixaschools.net if you do not have access to your profile.

If you do not receive the message and should have because the correct information is entered, please send your name, your child's name (if you are a a parent/guardian), and the phone number that should have received the text alert to quicknews@nixaschools.net.

If there is a weather or a safety situation on the 10th of the month, we will reschedule the test text.

The state of Missouri requires a photo ID to vote or you will be issued a provisional ballot that will be verified later. If you do not have a photo ID, you may be eligible for one through a program with the state. The Missouri Department of Revenue, through the license offices throughout the state, provides one (1) nondriver license at no charge to Missourians who wish to obtain a photo ID for voting purposes (and do not already have one). 🪪

The Nixa High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program presented a $723 check to the Honor Flight of the Ozarks on Monday, Feb. 3. Nixa High School faculty and staff raised the money during the Veterans Day assembly. 👏

✈️ The Honor Flight program provides veterans with a free trip to Washington, D.C., three times yearly. The next Honor Flight is scheduled for May 28. 🇺🇸

Through their hard work, students at High Pointe Elementary are learning in new and fun ways! ⭐️

First-grade students in Lauren Clayton's class were recently awarded three spirit sticks for displaying the Portrait of an Eagle traits of critical thinking, effective communication, and adaptability. 🏆

Later, the class learned how to use informational text to research animals. After combining the new facts, they discover how to create a research paper and art piece. 🎨

Jennifer Downs' fourth-grade students recently researched essential figures from the American Revolution. They compiled their learning into informational slide shows and presented them to their classmates. 🇺🇸 🦅
