Arcadia Safekeepers Agreement
It's our job to keep students safe. It's your job to help keep it safe.
School Safety Updates
Drop Off and Pick Up
- Student Dismissal changes must be done before 3:15pm.
- Be sure to pick up and drop off students from the curb side. Do not ask students to cross into the circle drive traffic lane.
- Please help keep our students safe by staying in your vehicles during student drop off and pick up.
- Please do not get out of the car and stand and wait on our sidewalks, as this is a travel lane for students. This causes crowding and is unsafe for our students.
Neighborhood Travel
- Please be mindful of the speed limit, stopping at stop signs, and watching out for students and families that walk through our school community.
Attendance Matters
At Arcadia Elementary, we promote continuous instruction, which means that students are engaged in learning from the moment they walk into their classrooms until the final bell rings at dismissal. Instruction begins at 8:50 AM and concludes before students leave at 3:50 PM.
Arriving late or leaving early can disrupt the learning experience for students. If you are facing challenges in ensuring your child arrives at school on time or have a pattern of leaving early, please feel free to reach out for assistance. We will be organizing principal meetings with families of students who have shown a pattern of late arrivals or who have a consistent pattern of leaving before the end of the school day. These meetings will be to support your student's attendance.
We appreciate your commitment to your child's education! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Mobile Health and Dental Clinic
To assist our families, we have arranged for the mobile Health and Dental Clinics to visit our school. They will provide services such as dental cleanings, immunizations, and well-child check-ups right here at school. If you are interested in utilizing this service, please sign up as soon as possible. This will help us demonstrate to the Family Health Center that there is a demand for their services at our school. Below is the sign-up link, which, although it mentions 2023, uses the same form. Thank you, and if you have any questions, please feel free to email Ms. Katrina White at whiteka@kalamazoopublicschools.net.
