Evergreen Academy

Welcome to Kindergarten at Evergreen Academy! We are so excited to have your family as part of Kindergarten this year and look forward to all the fun adventures we will share. There will be lots of new information as we start the year, so be sure to check your emails from school and Friday Folders (sent home on Fridays). If you have any questions, please let us know!

On Thursday, August 29th, there will be a New Family Orientation at 5:30 pm. Our administration team will go over important information and you can meet all the teachers and specialists. Kids are invited too.

On Friday, August 30th anytime between 10:00 and 11:00, you and your child will have an opportunity to see our classroom and say hello at our Meet & Greet event. Please bring with you:

• school supplies
• a labeled gallon-size zipper bag containing extra pants, shirt, underwear, and socks for your child in case of emergency. These do not need to be uniform clothing.

Drop off for Kindergarten is 8:10-8:20 in front of the school and class begins at 8:30. The time prior to 8:30 is transition time and important for kids to acclimate for the day. Our learning time begins promptly at 8:30. Kindergarten will release at 3:15 pm. Each day, your child will need:

• lunch in a lunch box/bag (warm-ups should be in a microwave-safe container)
• 2 snacks (can be packed with lunch)
• a personal reusable water bottle labeled with child's name
• lunch and snacks may not contain any nuts (items labeled "made in a facility with nuts" are okay)

During our first week of school, your child will be issued an iPad for use in school. You will need to provide a durable and easy-to-use case. All kindergarten iPads are 8th or 9th Generation, which you will need to consider when choosing your case. Linked here is the case we recommend because it is durable, easy-to-carry, and fits well in our storage and charging station. It also has a screen protector. Please send at your earliest convenience:

• iPad case (recommended model)
• a pair of headphones (simple plug & play, not wireless) Please choose what is most comfortable for your child, but this model has been successful for kids in the past.

Also, before the first day of school, please help your child choose a photo from the summer doing something he/she likes or learning something new. It can be a picture of just your child or the whole family. Please send the photo on the first day of school.
