Principal's Message
Clairmont Bulldog Families,
This past week was one of great concern for many families not only in our district, but in the county, state, and beyond. We will continue to have a closed campus, where out gate is locked during school hours and adults are required to come into the office with their identification to gain access to the campus and/or pick up a student. Our classroom doors are closed and locked at all times as a general precaution and our staff is diligent at ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students on campus.
We encourage you to talk with your students regarding their social media use. We have many dedicated professionals available on campus to assist all students if needed. We care deeply for our entire community and our goal is to support them, guide them, and encourage them to fulfill their potential.
This week we are participating in Get Your Teach On’s sixth annual worldwide Rock Your School event, this year to meet the moment. We will be kicking the event off on Monday morning at 8:00am! Some students will be receiving an award, but shhh don't tell them! We hope to see you there!
As a school community we’ve learned that joy can be found even in the smallest of moments, despite whatever we may be facing. We’ve learned that kids still show up, teachers still show up, and education still needs to be celebrated. I along with other teachers have a great week planned for your child. This week will be one where you get out of it what you put in. Please encourage your child to step outside of their comfort zone, engage with their peers and teachers, and be open to the incredible learning and fun that will take place.
I am looking forward to the week of Rock Your School.
Let’s make it a week that we will never forget!
😃
Best,
Ms. Shorter
Announcements
Spelling Bee: We are excited to announce that Clairmont Elementary is having a spelling bee for students grades 4th through 6th. The Spelling Bee is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their spelling skills and compete in a friendly and encouraging environment. Participants will be tested on their ability to spell a variety of words; the event will include several rounds. The competition aims to foster a love of language and promote academic excellence. The site spelling bees will take place between October 14th and October 23rd. The winner of each school site will go on to the district wide spelling bee in Stockton on 11/7.
