Blanket Drive
LHS is collecting new, handmade, colorful, cheery, cuddly blankets for Project Linus, a non-profit organization that provides blankets to children in shelters, hospitals, and social service agencies. Give a little security, warmth and comfort to a child by donating a special blanket made with love. Blankets can be knitted, crocheted, tie-blankets, etc. (100% cotton, flannel, single-ply polar fleece, or acrylic yarn…please no wool). Click here to view the flyer for more information, or contact kroche@ltps.org with any questions. Students who make blankets can also earn volunteer hours for their time. *WORDS TO LIVE BY*
*JUST FOR FUN*
There's a Word for That!
Japanese: the feeling of eating something, not because you're hungry, but simply for the sake of eating; kuchisabishii is more about feeling "peckish" or bored than it is about actual hunger.
gossamer [GOS-uh-mer]
a fine, filmy cobweb seen on grass or bushes, especially in autumn.
Fun Fact
Did you know that squirrels are responsible for thousands...maybe millions...of new trees each year? Squirrels plant so many acorns and nuts each year, that sometimes they misplace them and accidentally plant new trees in the process!
