What's Happening at RPE:
Round 1: Teacher of the Year Voting
This will be the first round of voting for our campus teacher of the year, the candidates on this ballot were nominated by our staff.
Disclaimer: If your nominee isn't on the ballot, it's because I allowed them to opt out, which is something we used to do a long time ago. Not everyone wants to go through the process, especially since if you make it to the district level they give you some essays to write. So, if your nominee is missing, it's not because I skipped them, it's because I gave them the option to opt out, but I wanted them to know that they were noticed by the staff as being worthy of the title.......unless your nomination went to Perkins, her's I deleted instantly, once was enough.
Most Important: Voter Participation is important, if only 10 to 20 staff members vote, then it becomes difficult to get down to 2 finalists. Also recurring participation is important, if you vote this time and your nominee isn't on the next ballot, it's crucial that you cast your vote for one of the remaining nominees. If everyone stops voting once their nominee is removed then we are left with the same nominees getting the same number of votes in the remaining rounds, which again makes it difficult to get to a definitive winner.
Use this link to cast your vote for a nominee: https://forms.gle/9PjmRmkdkQK1AzxB7
- Elimination from the ballot depends on which nominees have the bulk of the votes, meaning that if the 5th most voted nominee has 17 votes and the 6th most voted nominee has 4 votes then that's where we make the cut-off for the next ballot. So, the second ballot would be the top 5 most voted nominees. This is why voting is important, if only a few votes are cast and they are distributed relatively evenly across all nominees then we can't eliminate any of the nominees from the ballot.
Cold Weather Guidelines for Recess and Outdoor Activity
Cold Weather Advisory Guidelines for Recess & Outdoor Physical Activity Fresh air and exercise is an important part of the school day. Time spent outdoors gives students the opportunity to engage in activities that allow them to relax from the structure of the classroom for a short while. It is difficult to set guidelines that fit every circumstance and condition in regards to outside activity during cold weather. Please consider the following guidelines in regards to modifying school recess, other outdoor physical activity, or physical education classes. Each school is responsible for determining the criteria for such decisions regarding safety of outdoor activity on a day-to-day basis.
Conditions that should be considered in the determination:
● Temperature ● Wind Chill ● Age of Students ● Length of Time Outdoors ● Adequacy of Clothing of the Children ● Condition of the Playground
Recess & Outdoor Physical Activity
When properly clothed, elementary school-aged children can participate in safe, vigorous play in an outdoor environment in most weather conditions. Increased caution should be practiced when temperatures are below 40 degrees, including the wind chill factor.

Student Transfer Applications: January 13 - February 19, 2025
Dear Humble ISD Employees,
Employees who would like their child to attend an Humble ISD school that is different from where the child is zoned to attend, based upon their home address, must obtain an Approved Student Transfer. Not all Humble ISD campuses are available for transfers, even for employees, due to capacity of campuses.
The application period for requesting student transfers for the 2025-2026 school year will be Monday, January 13 - Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Applications received after February 19, 2025 will be considered during the next open enrollment period of June 9 through July 25, 2025.
Employees who live outside of Humble ISD must submit a renewal application annually. Renewal applications are required every year for all out-of-district employees in order to maintain approved transfer status.
Employees whose children already are on an Approved Student Transfer do not need to submit a Student Transfer Application if they live in Humble ISD and their child is staying at the same school next year. Approved transfer students may remain at the campus through the highest grade level for that campus, unless stipulations were designated at the time of approval.
Upon completion of the student’s education at one campus level, a new transfer application must be completed. There should be no expectation that a transfer will be accepted to a middle or high school in the same feeder pattern.
Humble ISD does not provide transportation for approved transfers. Transportation will be the responsibility of the parent. High school students are not guaranteed parking privileges.
If an employee resigns or loses their position within 90 days of employment in the effective school year, the transfer may be revoked.
Employees should review the Employee Student Transfers information. You must be logged in to MyHumble in order to access this information (not accessible through a personal email address). Employees will be able to access the 2025-2026 Transfer Application beginning Monday, January 13.
Please submit the 2025-2026 transfer application from Jan. 13 - Feb. 19. Applications are processed in the order that they are received. If you have questions, please email the Transfer Coordinator at: transferrequests@humbleisd.net.
