Attendance Matters
Make Every Day Count!
We are excited to announce a new initiative aimed at promoting student attendance across our district! On November 1st, we will launch our BISD Monthly Attendance Contest–“Make Every Day Count!” designed to encourage students to be in class every day. As we know, attendance tends to dip during colder months, and we hope this friendly competition will motivate our students to bundle up and keep coming to school daily! Read More ....

Bastrop ISD has multiple opportunities available for parents and the community to volunteer and mentor in our schools. Visit our website at www.bisdtx.org/volunteer to learn more and complete the required application.
A volunteer application must be completed and approved if you plan to attend school field trips with your student.
This is Kimberly Vences Sanchez's first year at Lost Pines Elementary, and she's already volunteered over 127 hours, the most of anyone in Bastrop ISD. She's always ready to take on any tasks to help out the PTA and her school, and has even begun the process of becoming a substitute. Lost Pines' PTA President Lily Jaimes had so many positive things to say about her and added "I think we may have our future (PTA) president here!"
A Reminder from Texas A&M Forest Service
As Halloween night approaches, let’s keep it spooky, safe, and wildfire-free! Here are some quick tips to help everyone enjoy a night of treats and tricks—without any wildfire scares:
- Keep decorations flame-free: Opt for LED lights or battery-operated candles inside your pumpkins and spooky decorations. Open flames can be risky, especially in areas with dry brush nearby.
- Mind your costumes: Choose costumes and wigs labeled “flame-resistant,” and avoid loose or billowy fabrics that could accidentally come into contact with candles or decorations.
- Clear outdoor spaces: Make sure your yard and pathways are free of dry leaves, branches, and other flammable debris to reduce fire risks, especially if using any electrical decorations.
- Supervise outdoor lighting: Check for frayed wires and use weatherproof lighting for any outdoor displays to prevent electrical fires.
- Say “no” to fireworks: Fireworks are exciting but dangerous and can ignite dry areas quickly. Let’s keep Halloween safe and keep the fireworks for other occasions!
Let's all do our part to enjoy a magical night while protecting our homes and community. Wishing everyone a safe, fire-free Halloween!
