I can't believe it’s December and almost halfway through the school year! Where is the time going? Your students have brought so much joy and happiness to our school. We are decorating trees based on holiday movie themes and will have fun dressing up on spirit week. Did I mention we know how to keep our instructional focus very strong while having fun?

Hello from the Media Center!
We are enjoying having students in the media center this year! We provide a wide variety of books for students to choose from to meet their individual needs and interests. We also provide technology assistance to students. We look forward to working with our SHMS students to help them become knowledgeable users of media and technology. Yearbooks & 8th Grade Dedications
Yearbooks are available for pre-order at yearbookordercenter.com using school code #26064. Yearbooks are $35 until 12/31/2024. Pre-ordering your yearbook ensures you have a copy reserved at the end of the school year.

Accelerated Reader
The end of the second nine weeks is rapidly approaching. The AR goal for this nine weeks is to complete 2 AR books - fiction and nonfiction - and earn a passing score on the corresponding AR quizzes. Students who meet this goal will earn a prize when they return to school after Christmas break. Each Destination team will also earn points based on the percentage of students in their Destination who meet the goal.

Dear Parents,
I would like to wish you all a happy December. With the festive season upon us, I want to remind you that your child's education is still a top priority. As the year draws to a close, it is essential that we continue to focus on academic progress and achievement. Students will be taking winter benchmarks during December, so please remind them to get enough rest each night and to start each morning with a healthy breakfast.
I want to commend you for your continued support and dedication to your child's education. We are all in this together and will continue providing your child the best possible education.
I encourage you to stay connected with your child's teacher and to support them in any way possible. As we look ahead to the new year, let us remain optimistic and committed to our shared goal of academic excellence.
