No School Friday 3/29- Friday 4/5
This is a reminder that there is no school on Friday 3/29 due to a teacher work day. There is no school during the week of 4/1-4/5 due to Spring Break. We look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday 4/8 and we hope you have a safe and joyful break!
STEAM Night Celebration
Did you know that in addition to Art, Music, P.E., and Library, Stony Point dragons have a STEAM class as a part of their Essentials schedule? Students alternate every other week between a guidance lesson and a STEAM lesson.
At STEAM Night earlier this week, families rotated to different stations to try various STEAM experiences! Student STEAM Ambassadors guided families as they embraced engineering challenges, toured around the world through Virtual Reality, experimented with robotics, played math games, coded, and created art projects!
Welcome!
We are excited to meet our new Dragon friends from Cascadia and Riverview! More information about transition activities will be coming soon.
You are invited and encouraged to attend our PTO Sponsored Mental Health Night- see more information below!

Dinner and childcare are provided at the school!
Have any questions you want answered by the panel? Let us know here!

Solar Eclipse on Monday April 8th
As you may know, there is a solar eclipse that will occur on Monday April 8th around dismissal time. Solar shade glasses will be provided to all students at the end of the day prior to dismissal. Some facts about the upcoming eclipse:
Between about 2:00 pm and 4:30 pm is the best viewing time (maximum visibility is 3:17 pm)
In Albemarle County, about 85% of the Sun will be covered by the moon. We are not in the path expected to experience totality (100% of the sun covered by the moon).
After the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, the next total solar eclipse that can be seen from the United States will not occur until August 23, 2044.
