KES Family Newsletter

It is hard to believe that August is upon us and we are gearing up for another great school year at KES. It is my hope that your summer has allowed you to relax, spend time with family, and enjoy many of the fun summer activities that Michigan summers have to offer. Please review this newsletter for information related to our 2024-2025 school year at KES!

It has been a busy summer at KES, with many improvements and additions being made to benefit our students in the coming school year.

Our main entrance landscaping is looking great! Thank you to Kingston Connected for volunteering to complete this project!

Our courtyard landscaping has also seen major improvements! Thank you to Kingston Connected, as well as the Kingston Varsity Football Team and Chris Michalski for the time, effort and supplies donated to this project!

We have received a new book vending machine that we will be able to use to reward students with this year! Thank you to Jeff and Sheila Machota for writing the grant that secured the funding for this addition to KES!

Our Cardinal Center and GSRP playground has seen the addition of a brand new playscape! This was a project completed with the help of many individuals and businesses that volunteered their time to benefit our youngest Cardinals. Thank you to all involved in making this project a success!

Class lists are posted! You can stop by to see them on our main entrance door at KES. Families will also be receiving a welcome back letter from their homeroom teacher in the coming days.

Our KES Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 22nd from 4pm-6pm. We are excited to offer families this annual opportunity to come in a meet their teachers, their classmates, and get a feel for their new classrooms! Some things to note about Open House:

-Please park in our south parking lot and enter the school through the cafeteria entrance.

-Hot dogs and water will be provided!

-Similar to last year, each of our teachers will be conducting presentations that begin at 4:00, 4:30, 5:00, and 5:30. Each presentation will last approximately 15 minutes. The final 15 minutes will be reserved for answering any questions that families have.

-GSRP families: Our GSRP Open House will be September 5th. Your child's teacher will contact you in late August to set up a home visit and further discuss the details of the program. The first day of school for GSRP students is scheduled for Monday, September 9th.
