Food on Campus - Important Information
As we approach the upcoming holidays, candy, desserts, baked goods (store bought/homemade), or other edible items are not to be sold or distributed during school hours unless approved in advance by the administration. Students who do not adhere to this expectation are subject to disciplinary action for insubordination and all food items will be confiscated. Please discuss this expectation and possible consequences with your student(s).
This measure will help us maintain a safe environment for all students. You can help us protect your student(s) by requesting that they not eat anything given to them by another person, anything that they have not brought from your home or anything not in its original sealed package. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping all of our students safe at school!

September 18, 2019 – State School Superintendent Richard Woods has selected 130 Georgia students to serve on his Student Advisory Council. Throughout the school year, these middle and high school students will meet with Superintendent Woods to discuss the impact of state policies in the classroom. Members of the Student Advisory Council will also discuss other issues related to education, serve as the Superintendent’s ambassadors to their respective schools, and participate in service projects to benefit schools and students.
“It is so important to me to hear directly from students about how decisions made at the state level are playing out in the classroom,” State School Superintendent Richard Woods said. “Meeting with my Student Advisory Council allows me to hear feedback firsthand from those most affected by educational policies.”
Members were selected from a pool of more than 1,000 students who applied to serve on the council. They were chosen based on the strength of their essay answers, which focused on their ideas for public education as well as their community service experience. The students selected attend public schools all over the state, in every RESA district in Georgia.
Details have been sent via email to selected students.
PTA Inquiries to Yearbooks
We have received a few inquiries about yearbooks lately in response to the Jostens automated marketing emails. PLATINUM, DIAMOND, or a LIONS DEN donors to the 2019-2020 PTA should have received an email from the PTA last Wednesday indicating that a yearbook is included with that level of PTA donation and will be purchased on their behalf by the PTA and delivered to your child along with all of the other yearbooks when they are distributed. If you received that email, there is nothing else need to do in order for your child to receive his/her 2019-2020 yearbook. All other inquiries regarding yearbooks should go to Marisa Wesker (weskerm@fultonschools.org) or directly to Jostens.
