A Note from the Principal
Greetings, WPA Families,
Intent to Return 2024-2025 School Year- OPEN NOW!
It is that time of year again when families with students in grades K-5 declare their intent to enroll at WPA next year.
When you log in to your parent Aspire account, you will see a BLUE FLAG that says
“Can register for grade __.”
You will find this link above your child’s address. Please click on this link and complete the registration process for next year. You will need to complete this process for each student you have currently attending Wasatch Peak Academy.
You will know your registration is complete if you log back into your parent Aspire homepage and the blue flag has disappeared. If you still see the link, your registration still needs to be completed.
To get an accurate count for students next year, we would like you to complete this as soon as possible. Please have your registration completed by Monday, December 18th.
We understand circumstances change, and your registration status may change. You must declare you intent to return to hold your spot here at WPA for next year.
If you have any questions, please email Julie Nelson at jnelson@wasatchpeak.org
WPA 2024-2025 Lottery- Opens NOW
(This is for all NEW students, including SIBLINGS that have never attended WPA)
We are excited to open our lottery to new students on December 10th.
If you have a younger sibling entering our kindergarten program next year,
you will want to register them HERE!
Do you know someone who would love WPA? Our very best advertising for WPA has always come by word of mouth from WPA’s families. If you know of a family that would love what we have to offer at WPA, please take a moment to tell them what you like about our school and share our lottery link. You can also invite them to visit us in person by taking a tour. Please call the front office to make arrangements.
Weather, Road Conditions, and Late Starts
We consider many things when deciding to delay the start of school so students can arrive at school safely. When the decision has been made about delaying the start of school, we will notify parents via text message. (If you are not receiving our text messages, please contact the front office.) We also post this information on our social media pages. Because we take the same feedback on road conditions into consideration, it is very likely that if Davis School District is delaying the start of school, we will be doing the same. We also understand that some families travel from outside Davis County or have other unique travel situations. We ask that families use their best judgment regarding road conditions and make a safe arrival a priority, If Davis School District determines it is not safe to travel to school for the day we will offer online learning opportunities to WPA students for a distance learning day.
Cold and Flu...and Covid Season
Attendance is an influential factor that impacts a child's learning. As early as Kindergarten, missing school can have long-term effects on a child's education. A lot of research supports the goal for students to miss less than ten days per school year or less than one day per month. You can access your student's attendance through Aspire or contact the front office for additional details.
Winter Break
Winter break is right around the corner. There will be no school from December 20th- January 3rd. We look forward to seeing our wonderful students again on January 4th. We hope you can enjoy the extra time with your family.
Coats for Kids
The Bountiful City Rotary Coats for Kids program has several vouchers available to WPA families who need warm clothing for the year. If your family would benefit from this program, please get in touch with Mary Anne in the front office.
PBS November Reading Challenge- DUE December 15.
Every year PBS sponsors a reading challenge for students and rewards them for participating with a free adventure pass to get into 16 different museums, parks, zoos, etc., throughout the year. It is one of our favorite programs because it supports literacy through reading and exposure to various experiences that help build background knowledge in kids. You can find more details here.
Sing Around- Mark Your Calendar
Join us for the Sing Around December 19th at 8:00 a.m.
Work Hard and Be Kind,
Mrs. Pilkington
During our Holiday Sing Around, students from each grade level will perform holiday songs for parents beginning about 8:00am. Parents are welcome to join us in the gym for the performance. Please plan to stay for the entire performance. Parents who have a reason to remain in the building after the Sing Around (volunteering in the classroom) will need to have a current Background Check and will also need to check in at the office immediately following the Sing Around. Students will get the opportunity to perform for each other later in the day.
