Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month
September 15 - October 15, 2024
Let's Get Celebrating! 🪅
This month we celebrate our Hispanic/Latinx Families at Mary Wright. We kicked off the month having the Upstate Latin American Student Organization read to all of our classes.🥁
Our students and teachers enjoyed this.
The 2024 theme is: Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together, encapsulating the “spirit of innovation, resilience, and unity that define the Hispanic experience.”
Look for more events soon!
Our Millon Father March was a huge success. We had 100 males attending. It was great seeing so many of our Proud and Present males. Thank you so much for attending and doing what is necessary to make sure your student succeed in school.

We encourage parents to come in and eat school lunch with their children. However, please do not bring in food from outside restaurants. To schedule a lunch visit, please contact your child's teacher at least one day in advance. This helps us ensure the safety of all students. Thank you for your understanding.
Sale of items
The sale of any items by students to students on school property is not allowed.
Parties/ Birthday Celebrations
Parents are encouraged to come and eat lunch with their students on their birthdays. However, you can no longer provide a special treat for the class unless it is on the approved snack list and you have approved this with the teacher before lunch. Any student party invitations may not be distributed unless they are distributed to every class member. Floral/balloon deliveries for students are not allowed at school.

Walk to School Day-October 2nd
Theme: Walking on Sunshine
New Procedures-Wear Yellow
Walk to School Day is on Wednesday, October 2nd. This year we will try a new way of doing this. In the past, we have walked after students arrived at school. This year, all students, parents, and staff who wish to participate will meet at the Beauty Mart parking lot at 7:00 AM to walk to school. Parents can park there and walk to the school.
All participants will receive a motivational/inspirational
bracelet upon arrival at the Beauty Mart. Once we arrive at the school, students will enter through the front door and go to breakfast. Parents will receive a healthy snack and drink. Spartanburg City Officers will be there to ensure our safety.
If your child rides the bus, you will have to bring them to school that day and park and walk.
We hope ALL students will be able to participate.
This is a short walk for a great experience. If it rains, this event will be rescheduled.
