Low Ash Primary
Weekly round up - 17.1.25
Welcome to the Spring Term!
Thank you once again for all of your support last week with the snow and ice. Being closed for the length of time we were was unprecedented and hopefully something we won't have to do again. It's been lovely to welcome the children back this week for the start of the new term.
Reception and Key Stage 1 Stars of the Week
Key Stage 2 Stars of the Week
Well done to the first Stars of the Week of 2025! You should all be very proud of yourselves.
Attendance
This week's school attendance is 96.4%.
Whole school attendance so far this year is 95.2%
Early Years/Key Stage 1 classes of the week are Reception base 2 and 2W with 99.2% attendance.
Key Stage 2 class of the week is 4T with 99.1% attendance.
Sadly, having 'lost' some days last week due to the unsafe conditions, good attendance is all the more important.
Once more, here is the link to the attendance page of the school website which has information on the Penalty Notice system. Ultimately, more than 2 penalty notices could result in the council taking you to court and a criminal record. We really do not want any of our families to have to go through this.

Art and DT
The children returned to school to their Art and DT days. Below you can see some of Year 4's completed clay tiles inspired by Gaudi and nature, Year 2's winding mechanisms, Year 3's washes and reflection work and Year 5 working on their moving toys.
Year 5 Space Camp
This week saw the first of the three Year 5 space camps which are taking place at school. Last night 5B returned to school in the evening where they had an astronomy talk, undertook some 'astronaut' training and went outside to look at star constellations. The children then camped out in the school hall. According to the staff who stayed overnight, 5B were fantastically behaved and slept brilliantly...if anything it was the snoring of one of the teachers which kept people awake!
Exciting opportunity
One of our parents has an exciting opportunity to complete a midwifery placement in Sri Lanka as part of her training. Following the placement, she will speak to the children at Low Ash about her experiences. If you feel you can support in any way, please see the picture below.
