Monarch Messenger
From Doan's Desk...
Thursday, OCTOBER 31st
Students may wear Halloween costumes to school. We encourage you to be creative, dress up with friends, and have fun with the spirit of the holiday.
Monarch High School Halloween Costume Guidelines
Safety - students need to consider basic standards of safety for themselves and awareness of how it could disrupt learning (examples - lights, sound effects)
Masks - you must be able to see, breath, and hear. Any mask that prevents staff from identifying students will not be allowed.
Weapons - no facsimiles or pretend “prop” weapons such as guns, knives, or swords.
Drugs and/or alcohol - costumes cannot promote use of alcohol or drugs of any kind.
Graphic violence - no costumes that are overly graphic, promote violence, or otherwise might logically be assumed to be offensive to others.
Appropriateness - consideration also must be given to anything that is degrading, harassing, offensive, or culturally inappropriate
- Preapproval - regarding costumes that may not be clearly addressed by these guidelines, students should be instructed to have the costume pre-approved by an administrator prior to wearing to school.
Students who wear costumes that do not conform to the costume guidelines listed above will be asked to change their clothing or sent home to acquire an appropriate alternative.

Pick-Up & Drop-Off Reminders
Please adhere to the following reminders:
Use the Designated Pick-Up and Drop-Off Lanes: These lanes have been specifically designed for efficient and safe student transportation.
Observe No Parking Zones: Do not park or idle your vehicle in designated "No Parking" zones. These areas must always remain clear to allow for smooth traffic flow.
DO NOT Park at Centennial Peaks Hospital: to avoid traffic some people have taken to parking across 88th Street at the Centennial Peaks lot and having students walk to them. This facility is an intensive outpatient and acute inpatient facility for mental health and substance abuse. Their parking lot is private property and off-limits for school use.
Student & Staff Spots: there are specific designated parking for faculty, senior lot, and junior lot. Parents should not park in any spots during drop-off and pick-up. Students are required to have a parking permit and park in their designated lots. Staff areas are colored with yellow lines and numbered as reserved spots.
Respect Crosswalks: Always yield to pedestrians using crosswalks, whether they are students, staff members, or other community members. Pedestrian safety is of paramount importance. DO NOT STOP ON A CROSSWALK.
Follow Traffic Rules: Adhere to all traffic laws, speed limits, and directional signs on our campus. Safety is a shared responsibility, and we all play a role in maintaining it.
Be Patient and Courteous: We understand that the pick-up and drop-off process can be busy, especially during peak times. Please exercise patience and kindness while navigating the area, as this will contribute to a safer atmosphere for everyone.
Parking Permits
All vehicles that park on campus must be registered with the school and have a paid parking permit displayed on their windshield.
- Households can request more than one sticker if students drive multiple cars.
- Cars that are not registered will be ticketed and eventually towed if they do not register.

STEP 2-Complete the Parking Permit form to register your car and driver (this form is also linked on RevTrak).
