October 2024
Blanco Vista Bulletin
Dear Blanco Vista Families,
October is here! With parent-teacher conferences, cooler weather, and a surge in our Lost and Found, it’s the perfect time to label your child’s sweaters, hoodies, jackets, and other belongings. Be sure to include their first initial and last name to help quickly identify and return items to the right student. Using last names is especially helpful, as we have several students with the same first name.
As a reminder, at the end of the 9-week period, we will hold a Lost and Found event in the lobby for one week. Any unclaimed items will be donated to Hays Clothes Closet or Goodwill.
We appreciate your help in managing our Lost and Found!
Also, enjoy your parent-teacher conference. Your child’s teacher has lots of valuable insights to share, including progress and areas for growth!
Red Ribbon Week is October 28th -31st. Below is a sneak peek of our dress up days:
Monday - Give Drugs the Boot! (Western Wear)
Tuesday- I’m too bright for drugs! (Wear Neon)
Wednesday - Lei Off Drugs! (Hawaiian Wear)
Thursday - Write Your Own Happy Ending! (Be a Storybook Character Who Chooses to Be Drug Free)
Lastly, we will be hosting our First Ever BVES Socktober Drive to benefit our local charitable organizations from October 3rd-30th. Please see our flyer for more information.
Thank you all for your support and It’s A Great Day To Be A Wildcat!

Grading Guidlines District Handbook
These guidelines establish the minimum number of assignments, projects, and examinations required for each grading period. In addition, these guidelines establish how the student’s mastery of concepts and achievement will be communicated (i.e., letter grades, numerical averages, checklist of required skills, etc.). Grading guidelines also outline in what circumstances a student will be allowed to redo an assignment or retake an examination for which the student
originally made a failing grade. Procedures for a student to follow after an absence will also be addressed.
