Week of February 24, 2025
Message from Wayland Middle School
Dear Wayland Middle School Caregivers,
Welcome back from break! We hope you had a safe, relaxing and enjoyable February vacation. We hope your time was spent with the people and things you enjoyed most.
We want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to three of our middle school teachers for attempting and completing a hike up Mt. Kilimanjaro! Mr. Fernandez-Davila, Ms. Naughton, and Mr. Reddington traveled to Tanzania and over 6 days climbed to the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro and back down safely.
Many students had access to a google classroom where the teachers were sharing updates and photos. One of the objectives of the climb was, "(To) inspire WMS students to embrace challenge. If their teachers can attempt climbing the tallest mountain in Africa and overcome obstacles that accompany the ascent, you can accomplish hard things too--regardless of the outcome."
Take Care,
WMS Faculty and Staff

Student Illness and Dismissal
With Cold and Flu season in full swing and the temperatures plummeting, we understand that many students may be absent due to illness. If your child is diagnosed with any illness, please call the school or the nurse line 508-358-3809 for notification and tracking purposes.
Additionally, as a gentle reminder, any student who is not feeling well or is hurt is requested to go to the nurse for evaluation and dismissal. Calling or texting a parent to be picked up is against school cell-phone policy. Please reference the Student Handbook for more information.
Thank you for your understanding, attention and cooperation with this matter.
