Volunteers Needed for the Lunchroom and Recess 🍕🏀
Are you looking for an easy way to get involved at Kenwood? Volunteering in the lunchroom or recess is a great way! Kenwood has volunteers to help in the lunchroom each day and new this year, volunteers will be out at recess for 30 minutes.
Lunch volunteer duties include helping children open their lunches, serving lunch for the younger grades, cleaning up spills, talking with students, and sanitizing the lunchroom before the next group of students arrive. You can sign up during your child's lunch period or do multiple lunch periods. Grandparents, neighbors, caregivers are all welcome to volunteer! We are looking for anyone who can help out for at least 30 minutes weekly or bi-weekly.
Recess volunteers are asked to come ready to play with the students outside. Recess volunteers may supervise games or assist with door duty (managing who comes in and out of the building for bathroom or water breaks). Recess volunteers are new to Kenwood this year, so we will be learning as we go what works best for Kenwood.
Volunteers can sign up for lunch and/or recess:
If you can't commit to regular lunch shifts, please sign up to become a substitute:
If you have any questions about volunteering in the lunchroom, please reach out to parent volunteer Kelly Henry at kellybhenry@gmail.com.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to support Kenwood!
Room Reps Needed!
Are you interested in a low-stress way to get involved in the Kenwood community? The following classes are still in need of a Room Rep: Ms. Grace (2), Ms. Maupin (2), Ms. Sue (3), Ms. DeMery (4), Ms. Crawford (5) and Ms. Suedbeck (5).
We are looking for Room Reps- a caregiver from each classroom who serves as the connection between the PTA, teacher, and classroom community. The time commitment is about 1 hour/month (with many opportunities for extra engagement if you'd like!) and involves sending emails to the classroom community alerting them of upcoming activities, recruiting volunteers for class events, and organizing staff appreciation efforts.
If you'd like to volunteer or have questions, please contact Meg (megan.j.montgomery@gmail.com or 919-423-2409) or Elyse (elyse.erickson@gmail.com or 952-200-5059).
