Greetings Wolfpack Families and Friends!!!
We are elated to announce the successful conclusion of the first quarter of this school year! It is almost unimaginable but have already finished 25% of our academic year!!!! It’s been a journey filled with dedication, hard work, and achievement from our students, teachers, and staff. There is so much to be proud of thus far and we are eager to keep the momentum moving in the same positive direction.
Our students have shown remarkable commitment to their education along with a high level of enthusiasm for learning, and their efforts have truly been paying off. We’ve witnessed academic growth and are we are seeing our school community come together to create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our teachers and staff for their unwavering dedication to supporting our students’ growth and success. Their passion and tireless efforts have been instrumental in this achievement. Please join me in thanking them for their consistent and unwavering commitment to our students and to our school. We also want to express our sincerest thanks to our amazing parents, partners, community members, and other stakeholders that have worked side by side with us as we work diligently to enhance the lives of each of our students on a daily basis. Thank you all for your hard work and determination.
As we move forward into the next quarter, let’s continue to work together to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Together, we will continue to achieve even greater heights in the months ahead. I am beyond encouraged about our future…..it is BRIGHT!!!

Great Things Happening at JCY
Students participated in a Design for Justice Lesson/activity. During this in-museum field trip, students explored how design impacts society on a personal, community, and global level. Students viewed MODA’s current exhibition through the lens of social equity and think critically and creatively about the solutions they see from other designers, with guidance from the Principles of Design from the Design Justice Network. Then, students discussed and unpacked all the ways that injustice and power imbalances impact our daily lives and look at some examples of design that are making the world a more just and equitable place. After learning about the work of designers, activists, artists, and other creatives, students collaborated to define a challenge of inequity or injustice in our world and use their creativity, compassion, and empathy to design an object, space, or system that proposes a solution, using the Liberatory Design Process as a guide. After the MODA visit, we went to Mukja Korean Fried Chicken where Sean Chang sponsored a luncheon for our scholars! He treated us to a delicious lunch to celebrate and kick off the beginning of the school year.

From the District
During October, countries across the globe participate in the observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This initiative aims to procure funds for research and offer advocacy for individuals diagnosed with the disease. It is imperative to engage in meaningful discussions about early detection and to pay tribute to the courageous individuals who are currently fighting or have previously fought this formidable illness.
