As your time as a WFB student draws to a close, it's time to embrace new challenges and opportunities. Dream big, work hard, and make a positive impact on the world. In addition to thinking what you want to do after high school, I encourage you to also think of who you want to become as a person. Best of luck in all your future endeavors!

Seeking Crossing Guards for 2024-25
Crossing Guards provide a safe environment for our students to walk to and from schools. They also serve as ambassadors, sharing positivity and building relationships with students and families. At the end of this school year, two members of the Crossing Guard team will be retiring: Crossing Guard Coordinator Lyle Greivell (28 years) and Michelle Johnson (21 years) who is typically stationed at Day and Santa Monica. We wish Lyle and Michelle all the best in retirement!
The District has several openings for Crossing Guards in the 2024-25 school year. Please consider applying for a Crossing Guard position in the District. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found on WECAN . Guards work morning, noon, and afternoon hours during the school year. They must be 18 years of age and able to work under minimal supervision and communicate with the public, families, and students. They must be able to stand for long periods of time and react quickly in all weather conditions. Contact the Recreation Department for more information or with questions.
Internet Use, Social Media Impact & Safety
With the end of the 2024-2025 school year upon us, it is likely that students will encounter more free time during the summer months ahead. This additional time may include an increase in web and social media usage. While the impact of social media on mental health continues to be researched, the Whitefish Bay School District wants to take this opportunity to provide some resources to assist families in the appropriate use of technology to ensure a safe environment for students.
Social media and apps account for a large amount of the time that students spend online, and the technology itself continues to develop and grow at a rapid pace. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Justice to develop information and learning modules about how all stakeholders can help support our students utilize technology and social media in a safe and responsible manner.
The following link will provide additional information related to technological safety and responsible use of social media. Thank you and be safe.
As a Village, we share the collective responsibility to enhance a culture of safety for all.
Bicycle Safety
This past month, the district partnered with the Whitefish Bay Police Department to hold trainings at Cumberland, Richards, and the Middle School related to bicycle safety. The Police Department presented to students in various grade levels on the ABCs of bike safety, the importance of a properly fitting helmet, promoting visibility of bike riders, following signs and signals, and more.
