Students, staff and families are invited to participate in our Spring Break Reading Challenge! Students will receive a copy of a Reading Challenge Bingo in their Learning Updates that will be coming home soon.📚

To celebrate this awesome day, the elementary and middle student, as well as staff member, who can recite the most numbers of pi will win a pie, and honourable bragging rights! Perhaps your child wants to start practicing?... 3.1415926535 8979323846 2643383279 5028841971...

I would love to start including book recommendations from our students and families in this monthly newsletter. If you or your child has a favourite book that they'd like to write a brief recommendation for, please email them to me at lorisse_humphries@sd33.bc.ca.

Interested in having your student work published for other Stitó:s students and families to read? Consider filling out an applicaton form and submitting a good copy of your work! Application forms available in Learning Commons or request one in an email.

TREATS & PAGES, Our Middle School Book Club

This year we are spotlighting different favourite middle school authors. This month's author is Vancouver's own Susin Nielsen. The neat thing about all of her 7 books are that they are set in and around Vancouver! "Treats" still to be determined, but I think we should involve chocolate for February! Meeting is on the last Wednesday of the month, during the outside time. Sign up is on the Monday and Tuesday before the meeting.

Our Reading Link Challenge teams have now been created. We have 3 teams that will compete on Fri. Mar.14th here at Stitó:s. The winning team will continue on to the district event on Wed. April 9th at 10:00am. Our teams are now meeting more regularly to begin discussing the books and preparing for our first fun event!
