Dear Parents and Families,
This school year, Parkway is introducing a new social-emotional survey for students in grades 3-12 to help us better understand and support their social-emotional learning needs. This survey is research-based and will help educators provide the instruction needed for students to strengthen their social-emotional skills.
Students at your school will take the 10-15 minute survey during regular school hours between September 23 and October 11. Parkway is introducing the survey in phases, with your school being in the first phase.
Your child’s feedback will be used to improve learning experiences, improve students’ sense of belonging at school, and improve the school’s overall climate and culture. The data will allow educators to better teach students crucial life skills as appropriate.
All responses will be kept confidential.
While we believe this survey will greatly benefit all students, we respect that some families may prefer to not have their students participate. If you do not want your child to participate, please complete this opt-out form by September 5.
We’ve created an FAQ page to answer additional questions families often have. Below you’ll find the questions that will appear on the survey. If you have additional questions or concerns about the survey, please contact Dr. Erin Schulte, Coordinator of School Counseling and Character Education, at eschulte@parkwayschools.net.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
Sincerely,
Greg Mathison, Ed.D.
Assistant Superintendent of Student Services
Fall Dreambox Challenge at Henry September 3rd through September 27th
We are excited for the Fall Dreambox Challenge at Henry September 3rd through September 27th!
As a school, we continue to work to increase the number of lessons students complete on Dreambox each week. One way we can do this is to play Dreambox at home or outside of school to help grow students’ math knowledge and problem solving skills.
Flyers were sent home on Friday 8/30 with more information on how to set and record Dreambox goals. Students should return completed forms to classroom teachers by Friday, October 4th. If 50% of the Henry students play Dreambox outside of school at least 10 times during the month of September, we will have a surprise celebration!
*Your child can login to Dreambox at home through Clever by using his or her login information or Clever badge. Once you log into Clever, your child can access Dreambox. Click this link that takes you to Parkway Clever.
