Look At What We Are Learning!
Routines
Students are practicing the implemented expectations for behavior and academics of both their special education and general education classroom. We want to ensure they practice our high expectations coming back from winter break. Our goal is to have students set up for success throughout all school settings throughout the entire school year.
SEL
In class we will focus on different emotions and their names! Working around the wheel of emotion. Knowing different emotions is crucial for overall well-being as it allows you to better understand yourself, navigate relationships effectively, make informed decisions based on your feelings, and manage stress by identifying and addressing your emotions appropriately; essentially, it empowers you to respond to life situations with greater awareness and control over your actions
Academics
SENSORY/ART/SCIENCE
We are utilizing our sensory table and movement breaks throughout the school day as earned rewards. Working on leisure skills (calm body for extended period of time) to ensure we can calm our body and be ready to learn! We will be doing various New Year themed art activities throughout the month and science that focuses on the different types of winter animals in Alaska!
Reminders
Our classroom is looking for donations of plastic shopping bags, non-latex gloves, snacks to share, and Ziplock bags (any size)!
