Attendance Matters
Bertram's ADA for was 92.82
ADA stands for Average Daily Attendance and is defined as the total days of student attendance divided by the total days of instruction. We recognize that illnesses and events take place that necesitate absences, however, we do encourage every student to be in school every day he/she is able.
- Did you know that just 2 absences in a Six Weeks can mean YOUR child is CHRONICALLY ABSENT?
- Do you know the research about Chronically Absent student performance?
- Did you know that when Absences ADD UP this one statistic can contribute to below grade-level achievement and increase in social emotional anxiety for students?
- Attendance matters and absences add up! Make every day count.

Mrs. Skinner - BES Teacher of the Year
Mrs. Skinner exemplifies excellence in education through her tireless dedication to student growth, her unwavering support for colleagues, and her commitment to high expectations for herself and others.
Under her guidance, students have flourished academically, socially, and emotionally. This year alone, her students demonstrated a remarkable 20% growth in Tier 1 performance on Istation Reading and 25% growth in Tier 1 performance on Istation Math. Beyond measurable data, her classroom is a place where growth can be seen in other ways—students who once struggled are now staying in class, on task, and actively participating in both classroom and school-wide activities.
Mrs. Skinner is a true leader among her peers. She serves as a mentor to new teachers, a team leader, and an active member of both the Lighthouse Team and Leadership Action Team. As co-leader of the Leadership Action Team and a member of the HQIM adoption committee, she has significantly influenced both school- and district-wide initiatives. She has also led “Choose Your Own Learning” sessions on campus, equipping colleagues with tools and strategies to enhance their teaching practices. Her generosity in sharing ideas, resources, and encouragement has helped her mentee, team, and school thrive.
Mrs. Skinner sets the bar high, holding her students and herself to the highest standards. She can often be heard inspiring and encouraging her students to push past challenges and achieve at levels they didn’t think possible. While she ensures the work gets done, she also makes sure it’s done with excellence, believing wholeheartedly in the capabilities of every student in her care.
Mrs. Skinner embodies what it means to be an exceptional educator. She grows students, uplifts and encourages her colleagues, and models the power of high expectations. Congratulations Mrs. Skinner, Bertram Elementary’s 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year!
