Important News for Multilingual Learners at Lake Bluff
14 May 2021
Hello Lake Bluff multilingual families! I hope everyone is enjoying the weather now that it is finally starting to warm up!
As Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) month continues, I want to share this video from NASA sharing the voices of scientists who work for the space program. I love it not only because of all of the languages represented, but also because I love learning about space and space exploration. Here is a quote from the video that stuck with me: "Space is a very unforgiving environment, and it often takes a very diverse team of people to be able to overcome space challenges." This speaks to language research that tells us that multilingualism leads to innovative thinking and problem solving skills. I hope you enjoy it.
