Letter from the Principal
Greetings Wildcat Families!
Please know that safety of our school and of your children is my number one priority. At Woodland ES, we have many processes and protocols in place to keep every child and every adult in our building safe, at all times. All visitors are expected to show proof of id/signing in and wearing a badge anytime that they arrive at Woodland Elementary. We have monthly safety drills with students and staff so that everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency. We have regular meetings with our school safety team and staff.
As we move forward, we will continue to listen and learn with all of you, and do our best to support our students, staff, and families.
We send our deepest condolences to the victims’ families and The Covenant School community in TN. I urge you to find comfort in each other, hold your loved ones close, and stay strong for our children and youth.
I want to be clear in communicating any student behavior that leads to a threat in safety and/or a school disruption will result in the most severe discipline and police intervention available. I will not allow any student(s) to compromise the positive learning environment and safety for our students here at Woodland Elementary School.
The responsibility for keeping our students, staff, and school safe is a top priority for all of us. Thank you for your continued diligence and partnership to ensure Students First, Safety First!
If you become aware of any information that poses a threat to student, staff or school safety, call 911 if it’s an emergency or report to our anonymous FCS Tip Line at the following link: https://www.fultonschools.org/fcstipline.
STEM RECERTIFICATION
On March 15, 2023, the Georgia Department of Education visited our school as a final step in our STEM recertification process. As a result of our phenomenal teachers, students, staff, and community partners over the past two years, Woodland Elementary School has successfully completed the recertification process to continue our designation as a Georgia STEM certified school. Thank you for your continued support!
As we head into Spring Break, we extend to you wishes for a relaxing and fun-filled family time during the break! We encourage you to maintain some reading and math in fun ways. Your children may always practice skills on iReady, and reading as a family is always fun!

4. iReady 100 Club students will receive a certificate, medal, special treat/party, and school announcement from Principal Toomer.
STUDENT SUCCESS SKILLS STUDENT INVENTORY
The Student Success Skills Inventory is used to measure student growth across Student Success Skill standards as a result of Rethink Ed lessons. Students complete the inventory by indicating if they almost always, always, sometimes, or never apply the skills being taught in the areas of Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Competence, Collaborative Problem Solving, Reflective Learning Strategies, and Sense of Belonging. The SSS Inventory is about 15-20 item and administered to students in the Fall and Spring. It takes about 15 minutes to complete. Students complete the SSS Inventory using the Illuminate platform.

We look forward to seeing all students arrive dressed in school uniform and ready to learn!
