VBCS Attendance Stats at a Glance (10/7-11)

Attendance this past week was 96.14%, which is essentially unchanged from 96.05% the previous week.

After 41 school days, cumulative attendance is 96.52%, which is essentially unchanged from 96.58% the previous week.

After 41 school days, cumulative Chronic Absenteeism rate (10% or more of cumulative school days missed) is 2.8%, which is down from 4.2% the previous week. This is our lowest cumulative rate so far this year!

Weekly Message from Mr. Costa

Dear Eagle Community,

It may be hard to believe, but this Thursday marks the end to the first quarter of the school year.

Our Vivian Banks Charter School community has seen some wonderful successes during the first 41 days of the 2024-25 academic school year, and I am incredibly excited for what the remaining three quarters have in store.

This Wednesday at 6PM at the Bonsall Community Center, our VBCS Pep Club - students and advisors - will be recognized during the monthly BUSD Board Meeting. If your student is involved with Pep Club, please consider attending to celebrate this special acknowledgement. Our VBCS Pep Club is home for all things celebratory within our campus community!

Next week (Oct. 21-25), conferences will take place with minimum day scheduling Monday through Friday. If you haven't yet, please find a time to meet with your student's teacher. This type of regular communication is what has been at the core of our strength so far this year. Our educators and I consider the VBCS parent and guardian community to be our true partners in education.

On that note, I would like to invite all parents and guardians to a very special introductory meeting of the VBCS Parent Club this Thursday 10/17 right after school in Room 9. The VBCS Parent Club is going to be the core of family involvement within our school community and we are excited to make this club official. If you can make it, please stop by Room 9 and hear how you can take part in this multi-layered and unique way of being involved with your student's education! We hope to see you then.
