Hello GCA Staff,

I hope you have all had a fun and restful weekend and are ready for the week ahead. This week, let us be thankful that we are never alone in our battles. We will no doubt face challenges in the week ahead. We all know that satan does not give up territory without a fight. As you face challenges this week, do so knowing that God is right there with you.

I am praying for each of you this week and asking God to act in his almighty and amazing ways. I pray that you will have a great week and God will use you in your classroom in a mighty way.

Rember this week ends with a three day weekend. :)

This week I encourage you to add in hands-on activities. As you add more engaging activities you will find your class retaining more and behaving better. Please remember that we have a lot of new science and art materials in the middle room. Try to take time this week to look for ways to make your lessons more engaging through videos, art projects, STEAM activities, etc. If you need time to look ahead at your curriculum and to plan something, Victoria Weber or I can watch your class to give you some planning time.

It is time to choose Principal's Award winners for Q2. Please send me an email by Friday, 1/13/23, to let me know if you have a winner in your class for Q2.

Please remember:

• Students can only receive this award once per year
• You do not have to have a winner for your class each quarter.

Please read this information carefully to help Report Card preparation go smoothly.

As you know, the grading period ended on 1/6/2023. Please remember, If you have students make up missed work or if you have any assignments after 1/6, that you want included in GP2, please backdate the assignment to 1/6.

As you are working on comments etc. this week, make sure you are in the correct grading period (top right-hand corner of your MSW screen).

Comments

• Leave a general GP2 comment for each student.
• Add the general comment to the class that appears last (in ABC order) on the report card.
• Also, comment on any subject where the student received an F or D.
• Add comments by going to the class, then to students, then click the image under comments.

Other Reminders

• Please remember to enter character traits (K - 4th) and conduct (K-12th).
• Please remember to add a graded assignment for any classes that receive a participation grade (i.e., K - Skills Development, 9th - PE.)
• Please make sure no assignments have defaulted to "not graded"
• Change any "I" to a 0 if the assignment is not completed the end of the Grade Period.

Please plan to have your report cards completed by 1:00 on Friday, 1/13. Do not leave that day until you and I have reviewed the report cards and I have given you the okay. Let me know as soon as you have finished, and I will run the report cards for us to review.

Keep working on your plans for the 100th Day of school and encourage your students to participate.

For lower elementary, this is a terrific opportunity to focus on numbers and get in some fun math activities. There are a ton of resources on Teachers Pay Teachers. Begin looking now so that you can get family participation and/or gather any supplies/copies you may need.
